Senior/Founding pastor
Dan Paxton started playing baseball when he was 6. He was an all-conference baseball player and an all-state football player. He went on to play baseball and football for the University of Northern Iowa. His first real job was as a junior high science teacher in New Mexico, where he also coached football, wrestling, and track.
His biggest indulgence: Buttered popcorn.
He’s been described as a teddy bear of a grandpa, always in your corner, grace-filled, gifted communicator, a coach on the field, prizes his family. His biggest dream is a life-giving, healthy, reproducing church that will go on way beyond his lifetime.
What people wouldn’t guess about him: Public speaking doesn’t come naturally; it’s something that he has to work at. He also loves Chris Farley (so much that it sometimes comes out in his sermons).
Dan’s goals for this year include running a 5K and training JJ, a horse that his dad gave him. Plus, he wants to write for children & grandchildren so they can better understand his life and heart.
