Who started it all?
Dan and Roi Lene Paxton along with their three children.
What were they thinking?
It started with a question: What if we could help 100 people tap into the power and presence of God and go out into this community and give His love away?
When did the Heartland Vineyard Church open its doors?
In 1988, with about 7 guests who met for Bible Study. Easter 1990, the Heartland Vineyard Church had its first Sunday service with 27 people in attendance.
Where did this church first take root?
Dan and Roi Lene’s living room at 1009 College Street in Cedar Falls. The children’s ministry was located in their kid’s bedroom. Heartland Vineyard has called many places home, including a car dealership, a storefront, and a middle school. The church family outgrew those four walls and moved to its current home on Greenhill Road in 2004.
Why do we do what we do the way we do it?
To experience and share God’s love in practical ways. To be the hands and feet of Jesus, showing all people that they matter.
