Sprout Preschool

Welcome to Sprout Preschool!

Thank you so much for visiting the Sprout Preschool website. This website will show you a little bit about who we are, what we believe in and the materials that we use to educate the children that attend our school.

Our goal is to nurture young children in a loving environment and to provide each child with a positive introduction to education. We believe a child’s first school experience is important because it lays the foundation for all future educational experiences. Therefore, we want to provide an encouraging atmosphere conducive to individual growth and development.

We believe that each child is a unique gift of God.  We strive to provide an environment that is safe, loving and rich in opportunities for learning and growth through age appropriate, hands-on activities.

We'd love to answer any of your questions, talk with you and your child, or give you a tour of our facility! Our staff can't wait to meet you!

Mission

The mission of Sprout Preschool is to serve the Cedar Valley community by providing a high-quality, hands-on preschool education program in a Christian environment.

Curriculum

“Creative Curriculum” is a curriculum that we use to educate your children. This curriculum is based on the belief that not all preschool aged children are at the same level of development at the same age. The assessment tools and guides are designed to accommodate a wide range of development within each age group. The curriculum includes ten goal areas for two to five year olds. They include: Sense of self, Responsibility for self and others, Pro-social behavior, Gross motor, Fine motor, Learning and problem solving, Logical thinking, Representation and symbolic thinking, Listening and speaking, Reading and writing.

“Handwriting Without Tears” is another tool we use at Sprout. This is a pre-planned handwriting education tool that is described as “fun, entertaining, and educationally sound instructional method to teach handwriting to all students pre-k through cursive.” (Source: www.hwtears.com)

Using these curriculum tools, the Sprout Staff has developed a set of objectives to measure academic success.
